Sorry for the Delay on Some Series....

But I am thinking hard on both of them. 'Is Hell Justified?" and the 'The Bible and Nakedness' to be particular. The problem is I have always had a very conservative viewpoint on most issues and on this own the texts of Scripture do not take me there but somewhere else and I am still trying to come to grips with exactly where I am.

"The Book of Revelation"I have put on hold till I get these other two done.

Blessings and something should be done after I have my workout tonight -- good time to think when your 45 min on a stationary bike.

  2. All in good time my son. In the nakedness one I am coming to grips with Biblical silence and its implicaitons and in the hell one I am coming to grips with the fact there are two alternative views that both have merit. But there also may be other options.

  3. But as to conservative ideals how do they come in question?

  4. Conservative in theology is different than conservative in politics. In theology it is basic understanding of the meaning of Scripture. Conservatives say they follow the Bible but in many cases they really have not studied the Bible on the issue they are taking a conservative stance they heard from someone else. Conservative by choice is one thing; conservative by tradition is something entirely different. If it is discovered that tradition is actually contrary to Scripture --well to me it is discarded.

Trust me son, I am still following conservative principles, it is just I think the conservative when it comes to certain issues are following a traditional interpretation of theology but have not actually examined all the Bible has to say on the subject.

As a conservative I welcome challenge to my ideals -- that is what gives them strength. If they can stand up to argument, reason and the facts that what helps establish their validity as truth. It is not so with liberals - -they seek to silence criticism -- See Obama and Fox News. Why? Because they know for a fact their answers do not solve problems they just sound nice.

In short son, all ideals -- conservative or liberal -- are subject to the scrutiny of God and the Bible. The disagreement between liberal and conservative is simple -- a conservative believes their are authorities that are higher than one's self; The liberal believes he or she (or mankind) is the highest authority for self. It is the age old who has the highest authority argument -- God or man. If it is discovered that an idea or ideal is based on something that cannot be backed by God's authority, for me the Bible, even if that ideal is supposedly considered conservative, then it is man based and not truly conservative based on authority. (As an aside to one of our other conversations -- that is why I cannot back the idea that debt, in any form to anyone or anything is a good thing -- The Bible says that ALL debt is bad {actually the Bible calls debt a stupid thing to do} -- therefore to me it is bad. It is not forbidden by Scripture but it is never called good)

Look to my next post on nakedness -- I will try to illustrate what I am saying.
